We are a
grassroots organization established to provide much needed
medical care to the indigents
of the Ibo tribe in Nigeria who
cannot afford to help themselves.
Our organization
actively addresses and works on issues of health care; dealing with
diseases such as hypertension, malaria, typhoid, insomnia, arthritic
and chronic debilitating pain and providing education
on prevention
of many tropical diseases.
MAHAFA is a
501-(c) 3 Nonprofit

Organization for the People of Africa.
MAHAFA (Formerly known as AfricareMeds) Organization was founded by
Chief, Deacon Richard Chibuna Anyanwu, a Registered Nurse and his wife Lolo Gertrude
Adanma Anyanwu, also a nurse in 2002. The primary objective of this
grassroots organization is to provide much needed medical care to
the indigents of Ibo tribe in Nigeria.
The birth of MAHAFA is from the concept of helping those
less fortunate indigents who could not afford to help
themselves.
After my mother's untimely death in 2001 due to cardiovascular
accident (CVA) exacerbated by undiagnosed diabetes and poorly
treated hypertension, three months after visiting my wife and I and
our children in our home in Seaside, California, we wondered how
many indigents are suffering from undiagnosed or misdiagnosed
illnesses and doesn't even know it and how many have actually died.
Soon, we stopped wondering and started thinking of ways to help
these indigents deal with this medical epidemic. From this
thinking, came the formation of MAHAFA formerly known as AfricareMeds.
MAHAFA exists to promote better life for the indigents of
Ibo tribe in Nigeria. The organization actively addresses and works
on issues of health care: Dealing with diseases such as
Hypertension, Malaria, Typhoid, Insomnia, Arthritic and Chronic
debilitating pain and providing immunizations and education for the prevention of many
tropical diseases. The Ibo people of Nigeria have suffered
tremendously from Nigerian civil war to governments that care less
about her own people. The unfortunate thing is that the money and
goods raised by the bigger nonprofit organizations in the western
world does not reach the poor masses it was intended for. In
contrast, all money and goods raised by MAHAFA formerly known as MAHAFA (Formerly known as AfricareMeds) reaches their
intended beneficiaries.
If this organization is to be successful, we call on all the good
people of America and beyond to assist us in providing this vital
service to those less fortunate.
I conclude with this
biblical quote: "For those much is given, much is expected," and
also a quote from Sir James Barrie "Those who bring sunshine into
the lives of others cannot keep if from themselves"'
